The Art of Jerry Dodd

Jerry’s wife, Dolores, has made framed prints of his beautiful work available at Pierpont Gallery.

Jerry Dodds was born in Indiana, but he spent most of his life in Valdosta, Georgia. He worked as a building contractor and was passionate about wildlife art. He had a deep love for the natural beauty of the South and its people.

Most of Jerry’s artwork was a reflection of his admiration for wildlife. His love for the great outdoors was evident in the way he spent hours in a deer stand marveling at the magnificence of God’s creation.

He was inspired by these natural encounters and returned home with a desire to capture those moments in his art. His attention to detail was remarkable, and he meticulously worked on each piece for months until it captured the beauty he had witnessed.  Jerry passed away in 2006.

Some of Jerry’s work is a combination of colored pencil, ink, and watercolor.
